Timer resolution locking (big on some titles, flat on others), core parking control (matters on hybrid Intel chips), shader-cache resizing (fixes hitching, not average FPS), and QoS network prioritisation (only matters on shared connections — where it matters a lot).
F-tier: the myths
'Gaming mode' registry hacks recycled since Windows 7, RAM-cleaner utilities that force page-outs and cause hitches, disabling every Windows service indiscriminately (hello broken audio), and CS-style launch options pasted into engines that ignore them. None of these deliver a real gain, and some make things worse.
